This painting is inspired by the magical play of light, pushing and contrasting the physical properties of the paint, from layering heavy impasto where the paint extends beyond the surface, to translucent glazes - where the viewer looks down into the surface of the paint.
It is painted Plein Air initially and is completed in the studio.
